Position Description:
Foothills Brewing Company is seeking a Graphic Designer who is passionate about the craft beer industry and willing to manage a wide variety of design tasks that support the Marketing and Sales initiatives of Foothills. This role will report to the Director of Sales & Marketing and collaborate with members of all departments to concept, design, and prepare marketing materials in line with the established brand guidelines. This is a full-time position based in Winston-Salem. The ideal candidate will be an extremely nimble designer with a sharp eye for detail with illustration and traditional graphic design skills. Position Responsibilities:
This is a hands-on production design role where you’ll be creating a variety of sales, marketing packaging, and hospitality materials in a fast-moving, high-volume environment. Design and illustration skills are primary, but good understanding of layout and print-ready production will be critical to success.
- Experienced in traditional and digital illustration skills. Able to take creative original art and progress it into a scalable vector image.
- Working knowledge and execution of design principles; composition, layout, typography, color, logo usage and the ability to translate corporate identity and brand into digital and print executions.
- Creating compelling visual communications for event signage, festivals, packaging, promotional posters, menus, flyers, point of purchase, selling materials, presentations, print ads and digital/web graphics.
- Translating copy and simple art direction into compelling layouts to effectively communicate ideas and information.
- Collaborating with sales, marketing, hospitality and other internal clients to fulfill creative requests from start to finish.
- Developing and maintaining image library files.
- Preparing files from design drafts to final, including but not limited to some color correcting, retouching, resizing, reformatting, etc.
- Managing and prioritizing daily work-flow.
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
· Degree in graphic design/digital design or equivalent creative experience
· Illustration skills – including print-ready and digital illustration experience.
· 1-3 years proficient work experience in both print and digital design and production using Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, and/or Photoshop
· Professional portfolio of design examples with work samples in print-ready mediums —including a link to portfolio site on resume
Preferred Qualifications
· Proofreading skills
· Knowledge of Adobe Premiere, After Effects or Final Cut
· Production design experience – the ability to design to tight external specifications, evaluate colors, and create print-ready files.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
