Foothills Wins Big !
On October 13th, 2007, Foothills Brewing received 2 Silver Medals at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) in Denver, Colorado. Foothills Brewing was the only brewery in North Carolina to win a medal this year. The medals were awarded for the Baltic Porter in the Baltic Porter category, and for the Gruffmeister 8 Maibock in the Traditional German Style Bock Heller Maibock category. This is the second year that Foothills Brewing has been awarded medals at The Great American Beer Fest, a very prestigious honor after only two and a half years of operation.
The GABF Competition awards are among the most coveted awards in the beer industry. Breweries enter their beers to be judged by the festival's Professional Judge Panel. The panel awards gold, silver or bronze medals that are recognized around the world as symbols of brewing excellence. The ultimate goal of the Great American Beer Festival Judge Panel is to identify the three beers that best represent each beer-style category as described and adopted by the Great American Beer Festival.
Congratulations to Jamie, Tim, and Wayne in the brewery for making some of the finest beer in the south!.

India Style Brown Ale on tap now
Gather your friends, put on your Halloween costume and celebrate the release of our IBA!
Foothills Brewing released our newest seasonal beer, the IBA (formerly known as Foothills Festive), on Saturday, October 27. Foothills IBA is a dark, full bodied India Brown Ale with a big hearty taste and an intense hop character. It weighs in at 7% abv, and has 70 IBU's! The India Brown Ale's malty taste leads into a nice spicy hop bitterness that excites the palate with every sip!
Also coming up in December, look for the release of the People's Porter, a medium-bodied porter great for the winter.

The stork visits Foothills
The stork delivered a box truck to Foothills! Looks more like Christmas! As the people drink more Foothills beers, we have had to upgrade our vehicles to carry all that beer. Wave (don't honk) at the Foothills road crew if you see them driving to and fro across the Southeast. Check out the guys on Halloween in Asheville, at the Bier Garden, where Foothills will be on special for the Widespread show, or at the Mellow Mushroom, where Foothills beers will also be on special. The guys will be busy bringing the India Brown Ale out this week, and you can find it at select bars in your town.
